JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for assisting in the implementation of the College’s comprehensive strategic enrollment management and recruitment plans. Conducts school visits and works with school counselors to identify, promote, recruit, and enroll students to the College. Provides information to applicants and others on the College’s admissions criteria, academic programs, career and transfer opportunities, and student services. Works with students, parents and guardians, faculty, staff, community groups, and special populations regarding admissions. Requires extensive recruitment travel.

This position is within the Professional Administrators Union. Candidates must currently reside or be willing to relocate to New York State at time of employment. Additionally, maintaining New York State residency will be required for the duration of employment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree with one (1) year of work experience is required. A valid driver’s license is required, and maintenance of driving record is required per college driver requirements. Must demonstrate the ability to meet the travel requirements of the position, which requires frequent and overnight travel to off-site locations. Efficient oral and written communication skills. Strong organization skills, independent judgment, professional maturity, and attention to detail. Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate as part of a team with individuals, departments, and organizations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience in higher education, college admissions, or a sales and/or recruitment-related position. Experience working with Technolutions Slate or other CRM tools. Demonstrated ability to work on simultaneous projects in a fast-paced environment. 

EXPECTED HIRING SALARY RANGE:

$58,458-$65,866  Salary subject to change pending outcome of Professional Administrators Union negotiations. Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. ACCT 101: This course introduces basic accounting concepts and principles for the sole proprietorship and partnerships with an emphasis on the accounting cycle and the preparation of financial statements along with their supporting schedules. Emphasis is also placed on the use of special journals, subsidiary ledgers, and valuation accounts.

ACCT 102: This course is a continuation of ACCT 101, with emphasis on applications of accounting principles to corporations. Topics will include accounting for the formation and operation of both types of business organizations, long-term liabilities, investments, cash flow, and financial statement analysis. Cost and Managerial Accounting principles are also introduced and include job costing, process costing, CVP, budget planning, standard costing, incremental analysis, and capital budgeting.

Instruct COMM101 – Mass Media — This is a critical issues survey course of national mass media that focuses on media literacy while addressing diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice. The historical development, economic structure, organization, function, and effects of mass media in society today are emphasized.  The course studies the influence of media on American culture through advertising, print, books, news, radio, television programming, the Internet, games, movies, popular music, and other media. It reviews ideological, technological, and regulatory developments that produced our existing media system, and analytical tools and techniques that enhance media literacy. Topics include media's role in shaping attitudes towards race, gender, sexuality, and class, and relationships between media and society.

Instruct COMM240 – Non-Fiction and Fiction Field Production — This course is an intermediate-level fiction/non-fiction production course that emphasizes the production skills, storytelling concepts, and the legal and ethical framework for ¿ì²¥ÊÓƵful documentary and short story productions. Also covered are different stylistic approaches to the genre and concepts related to the video maker's "voice" within his or her work. The aesthetic focus is on creative authorship, personal vision, and the exploration of strategies and methods for transforming vision into reality. The technical focus is on increasing sophistication and skill within specific areas of field production: sound recording, camera work, lighting, production planning, and computer-based nonlinear editing systems. Short projects are completed.

Instruct CULI110 – Introduction to Baking & Pastry â€” This is an introductory-level course that covers the basic theory and skill sets used throughout the field of baking and pastry. Topics covered include the use of hand tools and equipment found in a bake shop, as well as the exploration of baking and pastry ingredients and their functions. Students will practice scaling and converting recipes and mixing procedures, and learn chemistry as it relates to baking. Issues relating to ingredient selection, production scheduling, and sustainability considerations for bake shops will be discussed. Students will taste and evaluate products they create in class to enhance their understanding of the course material and begin to differentiate between classic dessert and pastries. Techniques practiced in lab include production of yeast breads, pastry doughs and batters, custards creams, and mousses, fillings, frostings, and dessert sauces, and plated desserts. Special projects in student-created desserts will be showcased during a student-led event

Laboratories include the study of rocks, minerals, fossils, and topographic maps. Substantial outside preparation for the laboratories is required.

Other duties include scheduling, planning of special projects, developing new systems, serving on committees within the College, creating Baker Center signs, hand-outs and other materials, searching for potential peer and para­professional tutors, promoting Baker Center services, and using/promoting special projects such as Strengths Quest.

Job Description:

The server is responsible for assisting the Management Team by being knowledgeable of all day to day operations as they pertain to the front of the house.  Responsible for providing legendary service to each and every guest, every day including taking responsibility for the coordination of all food and beverage service for a station on the floor.  Acts as an ambassador of Coltivare and TC3 and knowledgeable of the culinary arts and sustainable farming degree programs and continuing education programs; acts proactively to cross-market these programs to all guests.  Responsible for upholding all of Coltivare’s service standards and assisting the Management Team in meeting the educational mission of the TC3 Culinary Center at Coltivare and the College while ensuring maximum guest satisfaction resulting in overall guest loyalty, student ¿ì²¥ÊÓƵ, staff satisfaction and revenue growth.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have experience that provides evidence that the candidate has a good understanding of the role of the Server in providing outstanding customer service; the ability to communicate effectively with others, both orally and in writing; and the ability to exercise mature judgment.

  • Position Description

    The Event Coordinator is responsible for booking, coordinating, overseeing, decorating and other tasks as needed for Coltivare’s banquet and event spaces. In addition, responding to all inquiries that are made to Coltivare for reserving and showing the banquet and event space. Assists with menu development, invoicing, collection of payment and to ensure that every event has a Banquet Event Order (BEO) for it describing, in detail, regarding all aspects of each event booked. The Coordinator may also assist in the restaurant operation as needed for major events and special event weekends and holidays. Acts as an ambassador of Coltivare and being knowledgeable about Culinary Arts, Hospitality, and Wine Marketing academic programs and acts proactively to cross-market these programs to all guests. Responsible for upholding Coltivare’s mission statement, and all of Coltivare’s service standards. The work is performed in accordance with policies and objectives outlined by the Director of Operations with wide leeway allowed for the exercise of independent judgment in applying policy to specific cases. The Coordinator is expected to assist the management team as needed with any other responsibilities that will enhance the experience of our guests, as well as any other duties assigned by Coltivare’s Director of Operations.

    Associate’s degree and three years of catering and/or catering sales experience.

Job Description:

The steward/ dishwasher position is primarily responsible for being knowledgeable of all cleaning assignments at Coltivare. Responsible to perform routine and repetitive physical tasks.  Cleaning work includes the efficient and economical performance of building cleaning and occasional minor maintenance tasks that are performed under direct supervision or according to a specific set of instructions. The Cleaner must adhere to Coltivare policies concerning the cleanliness, importance of the cleanliness, and being consistent with Coltivare service standards while enhancing the experience of guests.  Responsible for all cleaning supply inventories and assists management with reordering supplies. The incumbent will perform all related duties as required. This job might include dishwasher coverage in the event additional staff are required or when the employee is out sick or is unable to report for their schedule shift.

Minimum Qualifications:

THE TC3 FARM OPPORTUNITIES

located in Dryden, NY, grows approximately 3 acres of organically grown fruits and vegetables.  Since 2014, our produce has been distributed to the community through CSA, Farm Stands, Campus Dining, Coltivare and local restaurants.  The Farm strives to create a fun, yet efficient and challenging work environment.  The Farm is an integral part of an multi-faceted operation that supports the academic programs of ¿ì²¥ÊÓƵ Cortland Community College by growing, marketing, and distributing organic produce and providing a hands-on learning lab environment for students.
