Faculty Profile: Tim McCabe
Tim McCabe has done a lot. Like so many faculty at 快播视频 Cortland Community College, he has real-world experience, and that shapes how he teaches. With more than 25 years working in the field, he is able to bring the insights he learned from those years of working in business into the classroom to provide our students an education they couldn鈥檛 get just from a book.
McCabe likes to say he has had two careers at TC3. He first started in 1979, and taught for four years before getting into corporate America. For the next 25 years he built an impressive resume, with positions that included sales manager, human resource manager, and vice president of sales and marketing. He also operated two consulting businesses, helping businesses grow their sales, improve their company culture, and increase their profitability. But he never really got away from teaching, spending several years as an adjunct at TC3, and also teaching classes at SUNY Cortland, St. Bonaventure University, Wells College, and the University of Phoenix. In 2008 he made the return to TC3 as a full-time faculty member.
McCabe has learned a lot through the years, and it has made him better in the classroom. He can share what he knows works in the real world, giving his students the benefit of his experience. He has watched students take what he taught them and go on to have 快播视频ful careers. That feeling that he gets when his students succeed is how he knows he has landed in the right place.
鈥淚 love teaching at the community college level.鈥
