Grad Profile: Javonte Long

Grad Profile: Javonte Long

May 20, 2025

Javonte Long came to TC3 for one reason: to play basketball. He was recruited by Coach Tom Wilk, leaving Harlem to come to Dryden to join the Panthers. He did play for Coach Wilk, exceptionally well in fact, but like so many others, he found TC3 was a lot more than he anticipated.

Long was a member of one of the first classes of the Educational Opportunity Program at TC3, which helped him make sure he remembered the student part of being a student-athlete. 鈥淚 would like to thank all of my professors and EOP for making sure I was focused on doing well in all of my classes,鈥 said Long.

A sport management major, he found the support he needed to not just stay eligible, but also keep on track to graduate on time. After an exceptional career that included leading the Panthers to two conference championships and individual honors such as being named an NJCAA All-American and the conference Player of the Year, Long is continuing both his basketball and sport management career on a scholarship to Frostburg State University in Maryland.

鈥淚 would like to thank Coach Wilk for believing in me since day one and making sure I was level headed both on and off the court.鈥
